Inaugural Sir Ian Wilmut Lecture – 8 September 2025

August 11, 2025
On 8 September 2025, we were honoured to host the inaugural Sir Ian Wilmut Lecture at the Roslin Institute.
Professor Shinya Yamanaka, Nobel Laureate, delivered an inspiring lecture on his discovery of the Yamanaka Factors – a breakthrough that unlocked the creation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and transformed the field of regenerative medicine.
The event celebrated the legacy of two landmark scientific achievments – the cloning of Dolly the Sheep and the development of iPSCs – both of which continue to shape innovation in medicine and biotechnology today.
We are delighted to share the full recording of this memorable lecture, now available to watch online:
The Roslin Foundation looks forward to continuing this annual lecture series in honour of Sir Ian Wilmut, recognising scientific discovery, collaboration, and global impact.
