Finance & Operations Manager
Jen Meikle

With over 30 years’ experience supporting research and academic organisations with particular expertise in the agricultural and livestock research sector. She brings a strong track record in financial management, operational and management delivery and governance support across complex, grant-funded environments. Her career began at Blythbank Farm with The Roslin Institute, before establishing and running a successful private business providing farm financial management services to farmers across the Southwest of Scotland. Alongside this, she worked within the Roslin Institute working closely with the Director and Heads of Department to provide high-level administrative and operational support. Since the establishment of Roslin Foundation in 2008, she has been actively involved in supporting the Foundation’s development, contributing to financial oversight, governance framework and strategy evolution. The long-standing involvement has provided her with a deep understanding of the Foundation’s mission, values and governance responsibilities. From 2018, she worked with the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH) initially as Finance Officer and Centre Administrator and later as Centre Operations Manager. In this role, she led financial management, funder reporting and operational delivery and oversaw programme coordination for large, multi-partner research programmes. In 2026, she took up the role of Finance and Operations Manager at the Roslin Foundation, overseeing financial management and operational delivery, supporting the Foundation’s mission and governance.

Suzy leads on finance, operations, governance, and organisational development, supporting the delivery of world class bioscience research through effective stewardship of charitable funding.

With over 25 years’ experience in the life sciences sector, she brings a pragmatic, delivery focused approach to financial leadership – providing clear insight, robust controls, and decision ready information to boards, trustees and senior stakeholders. Her work spans strategic planning, risk management, compliance, funding programmes, and partnership development across research institutes, universities and innovation ecosystems.

She is particularly interested in enabling excellent science through strong operation foundations – ensuring that people, processes, and finances are aligned to maximise impact.
